Ideal for beginners, this course is a great way to get a taste of crafting while learning essential skills like sawing, drilling, and wiring bristles, giving you everything you need to start creating at home.

More than just making brushes, this is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural world and de-stress while creating stylish, eco-friendly items you’ll cherish. Join us for a day of creativity and leave with original, purposeful pieces and the confidence to continue this endangered craft.

What you will learn:

• Brush-making principles and design

• Natural handle/bristle types and selection

• Safe saw use and safe knife-cutting techniques

• Drilling

• Wiring in the bristles

• Brush finishes and road testing!

• Discussion about design variations


Saturday 10th May 10:30 am – 3:00 pm

Forge Ways, Talbontdrain, Forge, Machynlleth

All tools and materials will be provided but please bring closed-toe footwear, practical and warm clothes, and a packed lunch. Refreshments will be provided and you will always find a kettle boiling over the fire.
