Botanical Jewellery Making with Lily Willow 26th July – 10 am – 1pm
Botanical Jewellery Making In Brass & Copper
In this workshop we will explore different silver smithing techniques to create a unique pair of earrings or pendant.
We begin the class by studying real leaves or flowers to design a piece of jewellery. There will also be templates for you to choose from should you wish to.
We will use real leaves, or dried flower petals to create texture on our metal sheet, and then learn how to cut out our designs using a jewelers saw.
To finish our pieces, we will learn how to file, sand and either make earring wires or a bail for pendants (with the option of simple soldering of a jump ring).
The final stage is to polish your piece.
No experience needed; this workshop is suitable for absolute beginners.
This class is approximately 3 – 3 1/2 hrs
Materials will be included – copper or brass sheet & silver wire for ear hooks or bail. (Silver sheet is an additional extra cost).
Refreshments will be included with cakes from our wonderful member Jules Cakes, handmade in Tal y lln.
